A shop steward is an educator, advocate, communicator, workplace organizer and a leader. In these new and challenging times, these roles take on a new depth and dimension. This two-day course will be taught by experienced union members. The goal is for Participants to get basic grounding in the collective agreement and particularly articles 9 and 10 in the urban and RSMC collective agreements. This Course can be a refresher for current shop stewards and a must for those interested in representing members as shop stewards in the R.S.M.C and URBAN groups.
The Local Education Committee will review all applications and make its final decision as to who the successful applicants are.
If you have any questions in this regard, please direct them to your local executive, as they received copies of the Application Form and the full application criteria.
