On February 19 and 20, the second round of hearings of the Industrial Inquiry Commission will be held in Ottawa.
The format for these hearings will be similar to the first. Commissioner Kaplan has asked both CUPW and Canada Post to provide him with written submissions before the hearings begin.
On the first day (February 19), both the Union and the Employer will have a chance to make presentations based on their written submissions. On the second day (February 20), the parties will then present their rebuttals to the other side’s submissions and presentations.
The hearings will continue where the first round left off. Commissioner Kaplan has asked both sides to give outlines of how they hope to achieve the goals they have set for the next 2, 5 and 10 years.
A final hearing will take place on March 25.
Livestream
Once again, the proceedings will be livestreamed. We will send the link out on Wednesday morning via eDigest and our Member Database email lists.
Members should know that there will be a maximum of 3,000 viewers, and viewers will only be able to watch, not participate.
