ELECTION OF LOCAL 560 DELEGATES TO REGIONAL CONFERENCE
NOVEMBER 24 – 27, 2022
Nominations are now being accepted.
The delegates from our Local, along with delegates from all Local of the Ontario Region will be debating and voting on resolution to submit to the National Convention to change our National Constitution.
As per the National Constitution:
1.07 The status of a member in good standing enables the member in good standing to:
(d) represent the Union or Local as a delegate;
As per the Local’s By-Laws:
Article 8 Nominations & Elections
8.1 The Local Secretary Treasurer shall receive nominations in writing for elections as per Article 8.2 of the Local Bylaws, no later than thirty (30) days prior to the elections.
8.2 Elections of officers shall be held in accordance with Article 5.9 of the Local Bylaws.
8.3 a) A Member must have attended 2/3rds of the meetings during the past twenty-four (24) months prior to the date of the election in order to be eligible to stand for election.
ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE ADDRESSED TO AND RECEIVED BY THE LOCAL SECRETARY – TREASURE BY NOON, TUESDAY AUGUST 30, 2022.
** PLEASE NOTE IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENT OF ARTICLE 8.3(A) YOU CAN STILL BE NOMINATED IF THE LOCAL DOES NOT RECEIVE ENOUGH NOMINATIONS FOR ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES. **
THE ELECTION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2022, VIA ZOOM PLATFORM A LINK CAN BE FOUND ON THE LOCAL’S WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE
