To All Members of CUPW Kitchener Local 560.,
Nearly 9,000 LCBO workers could be on strike on Friday.
They’re fighting for good jobs in every community, to protect public services, and to keep the LCBO public.
The LCBO generates $2.5 billion in annual profit, revenue that gets invested in public services such as health care and education.
Premier Doug Ford is trying to privatize the LCBO. If he succeeds, all that revenue would go to billionaires, instead of us.
Public services, including public sector jobs, will be at risk.
That’s why our union supports the LCBO workers. Here’s how you can support them, too:
On Thursday, July 4, participate in the Solidarity Selfie day of action. Download this poster, take a selfie with it, then post it online. Sample caption: I support LCBO workers’ fight for good jobs, public services & to keep the LCBO public. #onpoli #onlab #justice4workers
If a strike proceeds, visit a picket line near you on Saturday, July 6 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Click here to find a picket line in your community.
In the meantime, check out this hilarious video about what the workers are fighting for.
Thanks for your support!
In solidarity,
Mike Offord
President
